Horbal Morris

Obituary of Horbal Morris

Morris (Moe) Horbal was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven July 6th, 2015. He is predeceased by his mother, father and six siblings. Dad was born on May 7th, 1941, in Weirdale, Sask. At the age of 19, he moved to Prince Albert where he met and married his wife, Hazel. They would later settle in Saskatoon where he was employed with Dairy Producers until his retirement. Dad was an excellent gardener and enjoyed lending a helping hand with his daughter’s gardens as well. He loved sports and never missed a Roughrider game. Dad enjoyed his family vacations and best of all, many memorable camping trips. His family was his pride and joy. The grandchildren made his life sweeter, attending football, hockey, riding competitions and drama performances. Dad always made you feel welcome. It was no wonder that while growing up, our house was the place relatives and friends gathered. He was more concerned with how you were than with himself, always putting the needs of others before his own. He was a gentle, compassionate soul. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Hazel, two daughters; Debbie Rathgeber (Greg), and Tracey McManus (Patrick); grandchildren, Sean, Kaitlin and Amy; sister, Rose Williams from Winnipeg and brother, Peter Horbal (Deanna) from Regina. We would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to the nurses and doctors from St Paul’s Palliative Care for their exceptional care of Dad. We ask that in lieu of flowers that you remember dad by doing an unexpected act of kindness for someone, or donate to The Saskatchewan Lung Association (sk.lung.ca). Arrangements have been entrusted to Prairie View Cremation and Memorial Services. (306)242-7884. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.prairieviewchapel.com.
