Obituary of Tom Hedeman

We announce the sudden passing of Tom Hedemann which occurred on September 7th as the result of a heart attack. Tom was pre-deceased by his parents Per and Bjorg. Tom is survived by his son Scott Montgomery (Lisa) their children Tikken, Brennen and Freyja and his son Justin Hedemann (Jenn) and their children Kacey and Easton and his brother Lloyd. Tom’s true love was coaching skiing, a job at which he excelled. When Tom took over the Saskatchewan Ski Team they were thought of as “a Bunch of Flatlanders”. During his tenure as Head Coach, the Saskatchewan Ski Team was ranked fourth in Canada ahead of Team Alberta with his athletes competing in North America and Europe. Tom was always proud to the accomplishments of his athletes, both on and off the hill. Sadly, Tom’s career as a ski coach ended as a result of being hit by a reckless skier. Tom suffered a brain injury and was never the same. Tom’s close friends and family will miss his zest for life, unique sense of humour, positive attitude and encouraging spirit.
