Obituary of Curtis David Haugen

Curtis (Curt) David Haugen died suddenly at the age of 66 as a result of a severe car accident just north of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on Highway 2. Curt is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Janice, his children, Andrew (Heather, and their child Tora) and Lori (Jordan Sly, and their children Annabelle, Autumn and Levi); his siblings, Ken (Betty), Harvey (Sylvia), Dan (Bev), Edna (Ron Bjorgan), and Sid (Kathy); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was predeceased by his father, George and mother, Kerna. Curt was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on October 18, 1950. He attended Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science. On August 17, 1980, he married Janice, and soon welcomed their son Andrew (1982) and daughter Lori (1984). Curt excelled at many occupations including high school principal, computer programmer, plant executive, and retired RVer – and was a true ‘Jack of all Trades’. He generously volunteered his time and talents to many places, including Kinasao Lutheran Bible Camp and other church organizations. He was a selfless individual who often offered to assist family and friends with difficult, hands-on projects. Curt’s sense of humour and giving attitude gained him many friends along his journey of life. Curt and Jan ventured from challenge to challenge, home to home, city to town, with unwavering faith in God and love for each other. Papa Curt gushed over his grandchildren with sincere love and attention, and built a family cabin for all to enjoy for years to come. Curt will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. Funeral

A Celebration of Curt’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church (812 Preston Ave) in Saskatoon.
