Obituary of Abe Wiebe

Abe (Abraham) Wiebe August 22, 1932 - October 11, 2017 With his children by his side, Abe passed away after a brief illness in his 86th year. He was born in rural Manitoba to a large Mennonite family of which he was immensely proud. He was predeceased by his parents Peter John and Mary (Janzen) and several brothers and sisters. Upon retirement, after working many years in construction, he discovered his passions of cooking, wine making, travelling and visiting his family. He is survived by his daughter Heather Raccio (Sean) and his stepchildren Rose (Gerry), Robert and Christine (Luigi). His grandchildren Ryan, Paul, Monica, Alanna, Jessica, Cody, Kirsten, Joren and Connor and his two great grandchildren Sophia and Hudson. He was also loved by his brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Abe was truly loved and will be missed. Thank you to the staff at St. Paul's Hospital for their loving care and attention. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or St. Paul's Hospital Foundation. "Don't think of me as gone away my journeys just begun; life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of me as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how I must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of me as living in the hearts of those I touched...for nothing loved is ever lost and I was loved so much."
