Obituary of Helen Lagimodiere

Helen Lagimodiere passed away in Saskatoon, SK on Friday, Mar. 11th with family by her side. She was born at Ste Rose du Lac, MB in 1937 to Alva and Doris VanDusen. Mom's health began failing after Dad's passing in 2012. They were married for 53 years and had a beautiful love story. We know they are dancing again in Heaven! Helen is survived by her daughter, sons and the grandchildren she adored; Ronalyn and Don (Riley, Brandy & family), Gerry and Daphne (Krista, Maria, Sophia) and Grant and Zory (Summer & Kristen). She is also survived by her brother Donald, sister Irene (Paul) & sister Eleanor, many nieces and nephews, and Dad's very large loving family. Helen was a teacher in the early 60's before raising her kids. It was something she was very good at, and very proud of, yet she chose to be a devoted stay-at-home Mom. She always loved children and had a fun-loving playful spirit. She was very musical and would often play piano and sing. Mom was so creative and loved to decorate everything. She could also turn simple patches of dirt into the most amazing flower gardens. She was also an excellent artist. She would paint murals on the windows and transform the home every season. Another one of her passions was hosting parties and treating guests to her amazing cooking. She enjoyed bird watching and nature, a love she passed on to her family. Helen had a way of making people feel loved, special, and important. Thanks to all of her supportive & kind family and friends. We can't thank you all enough. A huge thank-you to everybody who helped care for our Mom. Appreciation to RUH Emergency who were very compassionate. We thank Holy Spirit Parish for all your prayers. Donations to Saskatoon Diabetes Association or Camp Easter Seal in lieu of flowers graciously accepted.
