Obituary of John Volk

John Volk February 19, 1926 – May 12, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Volk in Saskatoon at the age of 90. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay, of 70 years. His children Bruce (Jill), Mike (Debbie), Randy (Sherry) and Shari (Gary). His 13 Grandchildren Kelli (Mark), Janay (Jeff), Dreu (Amanda), Krista (Blair), Devon, Jay (Cassie), Tyler, Michael, Kaytee, Hannah, Adam, Sydney, Chloe, and 7 Great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his sons Bobby and Doug, his son-in-law Doug Fisher, and his daughter-in-law Cynthia. John worked for CP Rail for 41 years retiring in 1985. His golf days started in Wilkie Sk. on sand greens. He turned pro in 1969 and was a proud member of the CPGA for over 50 years. He was instrumental in putting in the grass greens at Wildwood Golf Course and taught lessons well into his 80’s. He was a proud family man and took pride in all of his kids’ and grandkids’ accomplishments.

Funeral

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 11:00am at Cathedral of The Holy Family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be make to the Doug Volk Memorial Scholarship – PGA of Canada Saskatchewan Zone, Box 475, Outlook Sk. S0L 2N0.
