Bjørg Hedemann passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 31st at the age of 94. This was a fitting day for Bjørg to pass as it was her late husband Per's birthday. Bjørg and Per immigrated to Canada in 1951 where Per took an engineering position with Canada Packers and in 1961 they moved to Saskatoon to work for the Mendel family. Many of you remember Bjørg from her days at Mount Blackstrap where she played an important role in the family business. Bjørg 's Norwegian heritage was always front and center as she was a founding member of the Saskatoon Scandinavian Club and remained an active member her entire life. Bjørg will always be remembered for her positive outlook and great sense of humour. Bjørg was predeceased by her life partner Per Ola. Bjørg is survived by her sons Tom and Lloyd, grandchildren Tate, Thea, Justin (Jenn), Scott Montgomery (Lisa), and great-grandchildren, Tikken, Brennan, Freja, Kacey, and Easton.Bjørg will be joining Per at the family plot in Oslo, Norway. Our family would like to thank Dr. Aaron Friggstad and the staff at RUH for their compassionate care during her short stay at RUH. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Bjørg can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (26-1738 Quebec, Ave. Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9).
