Elva Dent passed away peacefully the evening of Sunday, January 1, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Joy), Brian (Donna) and Carol (Rick) Lefebvre; grandchildren Adam (Jennifer), Michael, Stephanie (Curtis), Matthew (Danielle), Graham and Scott; and great-grandchildren Emily, Jaeda, Harman and Sophie. Elva was predeceased by her husband Wendell, sister Ruth Law and brothers Ted and Norman “Bus” Wheatley. Elva was born July 20, 1928 in Moose Jaw, SK to Norman and Amy Wheatley, youngest of four children. While attending U of S, she met Wendell who became the love of her life and partner for 51 years. They were married in an orchard in Naramata, BC on August 7, 1951. Wendell and Elva started their life together in Prince Albert where David, Brian and Carol were born. They moved to Saskatoon in 1964 and settled in Montgomery Place in 1969. Elva derived her greatest pleasures from needlework, crafts, gardening, reading and travel. She and Wendell travelled extensively around the world as well as spending many winters in Maui. For Elva, family was first and foremost. The arrival of grandchildren and great-grandchildren were highlights in her life. Special thanks to the staff of Oliver Lodge South for their kind and compassionate care. Donations in Elva’s memory can be made to Oliver Lodge Special Care Home, 1405 Faulkner Crescent, Saskatoon S7L 3R5.
