Gary Wayne Kreger

1951 — May 1, 2024

It is with profound sadness we announce that Gary Wayne Kreger (known as Gunner) age 72 born on June 23, 1951 passed away peacefully and with dignity on May 1, 2024 at St. Paul’s Hospital, with his loving wife and children by his side.

Gary leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever be cherished by his survivors:

His wife of 44 years Mil; his son Wayne (Minami), Wayne’s children Senli, Jin and Gen; his daughter Amy; his step son James, James’ children Brandon, Dustin, Kaylin, Kristopher and Kassidy; his step daughter Tami, Tami’s children Dyllan, Angellaya, Teaira; his siblings Velvet, Glen, Delphine (Phil), Denise (Glen), Janet (Larry), Darlene, and April; his awesome sister in law Gloria; extended family and close lifelong friends.

Known for his wit, humor, and quiet wisdom, Gary's hard work and love for his family were unwavering.

Gary completed an education in both meat cutting and carpentry at SIAST, but his true passion lay in ranching. Gary achieved his dream of owning and raising cattle. Gary enjoyed and valued his time as a journeyman carpenter at Robin Hood. After dedicating himself to his work for many years, he retired in 2016 but continued to farm. His love for building and creating shone through in the woodworking shop he constructed after retirement.

Gary took great joy in sharing adventures with his children, leaving a lasting mark in their hearts. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gary's love for the outdoors and animals was evident in every aspect of his life. He found companionship with his beloved dogs, from Timber to Anna.

A memorial service to celebrate what we had will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, to pay tribute to his legacy please consider planting a tree in a spot that is meaningful to you, or making a donation to St. Paul's ICU.
