With sadness the family announces the passing of Herman Monroe Dimmitt. Dad was born on February 26, 1935 and passed away on July 24, 2015 in St. Pauls Hospital. He was the only son of Corwin and Gretchen Dimmitt. Left to mourn are: his three daughters; Corinne Ayers, Christine Dimmitt (Lori), and Charlene Gilmour (Keith). Grandchildren; Dr. Erica Ayers (Tom), and Chelsea Ayers. His Sister Loree Campbell and best friend, Murray Cotter. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria in 2013. Brother-In-Laws; Ken Lamers, Ron Lamers and Hugh Campbell. Dad joined the Saskatoon City Police in 1956 and retired in 1986. After his retirement, he could always be found in his garage doing wood working. He made everything from planters, piggybanks, Christmas decorations but no one will ever forget his famous whirly gigs. Much of Dads social life was conducted in that garage with family and friends. Everyone knew his door was always open to share his humour and colorful conversation. Special thanks to the wonderful ladies that cared for Dad in Parkridge and the kind staff at St. Pauls Hospital. Also to Mr. Henry Kloppenburg, thank you for all you did and are doing to make this difficult time less stressful. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. A family graveside service will be held on August 26, 2015. Condolences may be left at www.prairieviewchapel.com. Arrangements entrusted to PRAIRIEVIEW CREMATION AND MEMORIAL SERVICES (306-242-7884).
