FULLERTON, Jean (nee Gilchrist)
March 6, 1939 – June 19, 2019
On June 19, 2019 Jean chose to go to her happy reunion with loved ones and “fur” children who have crossed over before her. Jean was born in King Kirkland, Ontario on March 6, 1939. Shortly after, the family returned to the Gilchrist family homestead in the hills south of McGee. She attended the Belvoir school and had many funny and some not so funny stories to share. She met the love of her life, Neil Fullerton while attending McGee school. They were wed July 9, 1957 and together they began their family in Fiske, Sk. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband Neil, daughter Rae Ann Klaassen and children Georjeana (Dean) Christianson, Mandy (Dave) Reiter, and Juanita Klaassen, son Duncan Fullerton and his daughter Meghan Morin, son Laurie (Sandi Burnie) and Laurie’s son Tad Fullerton. Her pride and joy were her great grandchildren Ryder and Madilyn Christianson, Farrish Shutra and Nixxon Reiter. Nannie, as she was respectfully and lovingly called, was a tower of strength that we all drew from at one time or another. She was a “powerhouse” who could fix a tractor or decorate the finest wedding cake. There was nothing she couldn’t or wouldn’t do. She laughed and loved with all of her heart. It was her greatest pleasure to be a caregiver. Many people were blessed with her kindness and ice cream pails full of the most delicious soup. The loudest person quieted and the meanest dog softened in her presence. Jean Margaret Fullerton was an incredibly remarkable woman who will be missed and fondly remembered.
RIDE EASY NANNIE
Donations on behalf of our Nannie may be made to the Saskatoon SPCA in honor of her beloved pup “Chico” who they happily rescued. A memorial service was held June 23, 2019 at the Fiske Hall. From the hearts of the Fullerton family to all who attended, assisted and cherished our beautiful lady, we thank you.
