Laurie Melnychuk

April 26, 1961 — July 31, 2024

In the early morning hours of July 31, 2024, surrounded by family, our special girl Laurie left with the Angels after a courageous battle against cancer. Laurie now joins her son Jesse & her parents in Heaven.

Laurie was born on April 26, 1961 in Prince Albert, the youngest child of Katharina & Cornelius Wall. She leaves behind her loving husband Bryan, sisters Katherina (Doug), Shirley (George), Patricia (Peter), brother Philip (Faith), sister-in-law Marilyn (Brad), brother-in-law Ivan, plus numerous nieces & nephews.

Laurie grew up in Prince Albert, attended Connaught School, Riverside & Carleton High school. Laurie lived briefly in Vancouver where son Jesse was born on June 20, 1984. She also resided in Alberta but settled in Saskatoon the later part of her life. Laurie had many hidden talents including artistry, interior design, music & her love of horses. In her early years she was a singer in a band & was also able to play a tune on the piano.

Laurie had various careers along her journey, her last selling insurance at Cherry Agencies in Saskatoon. Laure was a highly respected employee with hard working ethics & making good friends along the way.

Laurie was indeed a special person, high-spirited, caring & living life to the fullest. She left an imprint on the lives of family and anyone who knew her.

Meeting Bryan, the love of her life, was by far one of the best things that happened to Laurie. They were married on September 18, 2021. She cherished the home her & Bryan had created for themselves & their family pets Bella & Abby. They loved spending time in their back yard, going camping with their trailer & taking the occasional trip to Mexico.

Unfortunately Laurie had many struggles along life's journey; the hardest being the loss of her son Jesse on May 29, 2016. In spite of it all, she remained strong, had a great attitude & made the best of life's challenges till the end. Laurie set a great example during her illness to take care of business in an attempt to make things easier for loved ones left behind.

So sad, Laurie's life was cut short but we are grateful for the time she shared with us. We will all miss her deeply.

Laurie's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words & will be missed beyond measure.
