Louis will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gail Lowe, Colin (Lindy) Beaulieu, Mary (Kevin) Lackey, Colleen (Clayton) Harkins, Barb (Dan) Collier and Kim (Nazreen) Beaulieu; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Ida Morrisey.
Louis was predeceased by his wife, Otilia; baby daughter, Mary Jane; parents, Golden and Ella Beaulieu; siblings, Agnes (Louis) Holeska, Victor (Margot) Beaulieu, Grace (Louis) Boucher, Ruth (Paul) Bahr and Alfred (Dorothy) Beaulieu; granddaughter, Michaila Beaulieu; son-in-law, Robert Lowe; parents-in-law, Martin and Barbara Fichter; brothers/sisters-in-law, Joe, Ted, Lawrence, Annie Fichter, Marty and Ray Nicole and Pat Morrisey.
Louis was born November 24, 1925, in Horizon Saskatchewan, to Ella and Golden Beaulieu. He was 2 years old when the family relocated to Estevan, where Louis and his five siblings were raised on a farm north of Estevan. Louis attended Mizpah Country School to grade 9, then went on to Estevan Collegiate to attain grade 11 in 1943. He then ventured to B.C., to work in a mine, but eventually, due to his passion for farming, returned home to farm with his dad.
Louie married Otilia Fichter, June 25, 1953, his partner of 71 years. In 1954, Louis' dream came true when they started their own family farm, where they worked hard, raised 6 kids, built a house, planted trees...etc., creating their paradise. They proudly called this home for 66 years.
At a very young age, the kids took an active role in many aspects of farming. Louie took great pleasure in working together, having his kids by his side. It was always great fun.
Louie loved to swim, spend time in nature especially his trees and garden. Even though the farm was his favourite place to be, Louie and Otilia enjoyed exploring many areas of Canada, and even travelled to Africa in their later years. Louie's expert story telling ability and love of reciting poetry was admired and enjoyed by many.
Louie had a great passion for family. He loved and found great joy in children, and they were drawn to him and his natural ability to have fun. His kids and grandchildren were the light of his life. He touched the hearts of everyone he encountered with his kindness, wisdom, patience and brilliant sense of humour.
Dad's smile, laughter and fun loving and caring spirit will live on forever in the memories we cherish and the love we shared.
