It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille Lafreniere; wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. Lucille was born on March 19, 1940 in Saskatoon and was the seventh of eleven children born to Édouard and Germaine Lepage. Lucille was placed into palliative care at Sherbrooke Community Centre in Saskatoon where she peacefully passed away on Saturday August 10th at the age of 84.
Lucille was raised and worked on the family farm near Vonda where she took pride in feeding and raising turkeys until they moved to the Vonda Hotel in 1951. On August 16, 1960 she married Leo Lafreniere and not long after they welcomed three boys into the world; Andre, Donald, and Denis.
Lucille worked hard on the dairy farm as a housewife and mother. She was also involved with volunteer work including the Church, CWL, Meals on Wheels, Diocese of Saskatoon Parish office; as well as beingpart of the Pastoral Care Team at St. Paul’s, City, and Royal University Hospitals. She retired to St. Ann’s in Saskatoon where she continued to enjoy visiting with her friends and helping out her fellow residents.
Lucy’s pastimes included playing softball, walk-a-thons, ice skating, and she loved Saturday NightDance Hall Party. She loved visiting and entertaining family and friends. This always included a great meal for everyone to enjoy. She cherished her time with her children and her grandchildren.
Lucille was pre-deceased by her parents, Édouard and Germaine and siblings; Charles Lepage, Agnes Lepage, Rita Favreau, Marie Beaulieu, Andre Lepage, Ernest Lepage, and Germain (Jim) Lepage. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Andre (Carmela), Leo, Kelsee, Mario; Don (Kim), Jielle, Justin; Denis (Deanna), Alexandria (Steven), Victoria (Kirby), Samantha, Nickolas. Great-Grandchildren: Lucas, Ruby, and Elsie.
