Martha passed away peacefully in her sleep, in the early hours Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Oliver Lodge.

Martha was born and grew up in Estonia. During the war in 1944 the family escaped to Sweden in a home built motor boat, across the Baltic sea. Five years later the immigrated to Canada, and resided in Regina until 1973. Following retirement Martha, and Michael went to Vancouver, and happily established friendships within the Estonian community. After Michaels death, she moved to Saskatoon in 1986, and resided at Aspen Chase, and later Luther Heights until her late nineties, celebrated her 100
th
birthday in a private care home, before moving to Oliver Lodge in August 2012.
She loved needlework and made several exquisite, hand stitched quilts for family and friends. Her greatest pleasure however was gardening, especially growing beautiful flowers. The family wish to thank Oliver Lodge, and staff for their care and helping during the last six and a half years of her long life. As per Martha’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service, the family will have a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your chosen charity.
