Mary Ann Blocman

April 14, 1943 — September 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Blocman (nee Rohr), daughter of the late Erwin and Antoinette Rohr.

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Mary Ann's vibrant spirit, humour and zest for life touched everyone she met.

Mary Ann's journey took her from Warsaw to the bustling neighborhoods of London, the picturesque landscapes of Seattle, the charming city of Ottawa and the rich culture of Paris. But her love for Saskatoon proved to be her forever home. Throughout her travels she formed deep connections and cherished friendships leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of those around her.

Mary Ann had a sweet tooth that was legendary among her friends. Her love for chocolate, Peeps, and Butterscotch Life Savers was matched only by her infectious sense of humour. She had a unique ability to lighten any room with her witty remarks and playful banter, ensuring that laughter was always a part of her gatherings. She had a passion for cooking and would take every opportunity to share her cuisine with everyone she loved.

Mary Ann was also a devoted animal lover, especially to her beloved cats. They brought her immense comfort and joy and she often spoke of the special bond she shared with each of them.

Known as Nana, she truly loved her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to show up with treats or gifts (often recycled). She adored her cousins Marie Antonioli and family, Felicia DePalmo and family, and friend, Liliana Nelska. Mary Ann cherished her many friends, especially Sandi, with whom she shared life's ups and downs since childhood.

Rest in peace dear MA. Your adventurous spirit and loving heart will forever remain in our memories.

Mary Ann was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael Bone, who is survived by his wife, Cynthia Block, and their children Casey and Davis Bone. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nathalie Pawlachuk (Bryan) and their children, Michael, Ethan and Gabriel.

In lieu of cards and flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. An intimate memorial with her close family will be held in her honour at a later date.
