Otilia Beaulieu passed away peacefully at Langham Nursing Home on August 6, 2024 at the age of 97.
Otilia will be lovingly remembered by Louis, her loving husband of 71 years; their 6 children Gail Lowe, Colin (Lindy) Beaulieu, Mary (Kevin) Lackey, Colleen (Clayton) Harkins, Barb (Dan) Collier, Kim (Nazreen) Beaulieu; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; her sister Ida Morrisey as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Otilia was predeceased by a baby daughter, Mary Jane Beaulieu; her parents, Martin and Barbara Fichter; siblings, Annie, Joe, Lawrence, Ted Fichter, and Marty Nicol; granddaughter, Michaila Beaulieu; son-in-law, Robert Lowe; parents-in-law Ella and Golden Beaulieu; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ray Nicol, Pat Morrisey, Agnes and Louis Haleska, Victor and Margot Beaulieu, Grace and Louis Bocher, Ruth and Paul Bahr, Alfred (Dorothy) Beaulieu.
Otilia was born November 5, 1926, to Martin and Barbara Fichter in Estevan, the oldest of seven children. She was raised on the family farm North of Estevan. She loved attending the one room school nearby, eventually going to Sedley to continue her schooling. Otilia's first career was working at the lumber yard in Estevan.
Otilia married the love of her life, Louis Beaulieu, on June 25, 1953. They started their own beautiful family farm where they lived until their mid nineties.
Otilia was a member of St John the Baptist Parish in Estevan. Her strong faith was important to her.
Otilia was an avid reader, a talented seamstress and a keen gardener. She loved to bake, especially bread, which she did until the age of 93. A love of nature was always evident, as she admired the trees, sunsets, and skies. She loved to go on drives and explore the countryside near and far. She loved and enjoyed music. Otilia was curious, had many interests and was an eager, life-long learner.
Otilia's favourite times were spent with her big family of 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Her family is so thankful for many wonderful memories that were made at the farm and on various excursions and adventures. She touched each and every one of us in a special way.
