Shirley Anne Lindgren

1945 — January 3, 2024

Shirley Anne Lindgren (nee Rachuk), 78, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She was comforted by her loving family by her side. Shirley was a very caring and giving person, always willing to help anyone in need. She put her whole heart into everything she did and was incredibly strong. Despite her own pain, she supported others in theirs. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and her grandkids and great-grandkids meant the world to her. She deeply missed them when they were not around and never stopped asking when they would visit again. Shirley had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on her loved ones as we all did to her. She always took the time to remember everyone's birthdays and special events, even if they had passed away. Shirley had a remarkable ability to focus on family and friends, often leaving the dusting until later.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her son Wade (Ronda), daughter Wendy (Aubrey), grandchildren Tara, Jessica, Alysha, step-grandchildren Amber, Mark, LeeAnn, and Tessa, great-grandchildren Jordyn, Brayden, Jenay, Rustin, Regan, Eli, Athena, and Ansel, step-great-grandchildren Cylis, Asher, Chloe, Teagan and Joel. Her sister Dallas, sister-in-law Faye, sister-in-law Carol (Arnie), brother-in-law Lew (Joanne), many nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends who all held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Allen, parents Peter and Elizabeth, brother Ernie, sisters Dianne and Doreen (Wally), mother and father-in-law Elis and Dorothy, brother in law George, sister-in-law Ivy (Ernie), brother-in-law Edmund, and many other dear family and friends.

Shirley dedicated 32 years of her career to the Prince Albert Correctional Centre, where she made many friends who became like family to her. Mom was very respected at her job, even the inmates loved her and many called her "Mom". She had a way with everyone who knew her and never judged anyone. She received an exemplary award for her outstanding work, a recognition that she was incredibly proud of and rightfully deserved. Shirley maintained close relationships with her former colleagues, still having visits and frequent phone calls with them.

In her free time, Shirley took great pride in supporting her family, never missing a hockey game or any event her children had. As a grandma, her favorite thing was visiting her great-grandkids and cherishing those special moments with them.

A graveside service will be held in the spring, with the date to be announced at a later time.

May Mom's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her loving memory continue to bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
