Upali Sandaruwan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Upali Sandaruwan on September 16, 2024.

Upali was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on April 15, 1956

He married the love of his life, Sandy. He worked as a colonel in the Sri Lankan military, and He also worked in the Delta Bessborough Hotel at his later life.

He had a great love for gardening and enjoyed outdoors most of the time in summer. He also loved to write poems to express his thoughts about life.

Upali will be greatly missed by his wife Sandy, his 3 daughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his many friends.

As he practiced Buddhism throughout his life & followed the principles of Lord Buddha's guidance, we believe he had been attained nibbana.
