The family of Velma Margaret Vance sadly announces her passing on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 in Saskatoon, SK. at the age of 95.
Velma is survived by her daughters, Beth (Ed) Wiens and Linda (Larry) Merilees; her son, John (Linda) Aitken; her grandchildren, Chad (Nicole) Wiens, Chris (Jenn) Wiens, Rob (Hye-Jung) Merilees, Darcie (Jody) Pollard, Aaron (Becca) Aitken, and Riley Aitken; her great-grandchildren, Tayler and Weston Wiens, Parker and Summer Wiens, Tyler and Jamie Merilees, Brody (Maude) Pollard, and Alex (Madi) Pollard; her great-great-granddaughter, Eva Pollard; and her sister, Joan. Velma was predeceased by her brothers, Ray, Bert, and Jim Ball.
Velma was born on February 14, 1929 in Moose Jaw, SK. where she took her schooling. She was the second oldest of five children. She was divorced from Dick Wyatt, widowed from Geo Aitken and widowed from Clare Vance.
Velma had a heart of gold and loved to talk to anyone. She made friends very easily. She was a very giving person and will be missed by all who knew her. Velma loved her gardens and could tell you the name of almost any plant or tree. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved her very much and will miss visiting with her. Velma also enjoyed walking everyday with visits to the mall. She created many memories on her trips to Mexico, Arizona, the Maritimes, and Vancouver Island.

Velma requested no funeral. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
A special "Thank you" to the ladies of Ciasico-Guardian Home Care for the tender care they gave our mother. Also thank you to the paramedics and the medical staff at the Royal University Hospital.
