COVID-19 Information

At Prairie View, our commitment is to the health and well being of our client families, our staff and the community. Our team is closely monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic and following the health guidance provided by the CDC, Funeral and Cremation Services Council, National Funeral Directors Association, Health Canada and Saskatchewan Health.

Supporting one another at a time of loss is important, and there are many ways to still pay tribute amidst this outbreak. We are here to assist families as they choose the best way to memorialize in their particular situation, whether that be a funeral or memorial in the coming days, or a memorial at a later date. We will abide by the Province of Saskatchewan’s restrictions on number of people allowed at public gatherings.

All services currently scheduled will proceed, unless a family requests to make the service private, perhaps with livestreaming video for guests, or  if they choose to reschedule or postpone.

With regard to public gatherings, in accordance with Saskatchewan Health, we advise those not feeling well to stay home, or if you have traveled from another country in the past 14 days, please stay home.

Members of the community not attending the funeral can leave private or public condolences on our website, or watch the livestream of the service if the family has chosen to make that available.

We have offered our livestreaming video option at no cost to families if they wish to make the memorial service available live on our website, and a recorded video would then be published to the website later in the day.

If you are attending services, please follow safe hygiene practices:

·       Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitize gel with at least 60 percent alcohol.

·       Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands

·       Cover your coughs and sneezes with your arm or inner elbow

·       Avoid close contact with sick people

In addition to communicating best health and safety practices to our staff and guests, we have intensified cleaning throughout our locations.

Guest Register attendants will sign in guests, to avoid all guests touching the same pen. Door attendants will be on hand open doors for funeral guests so all guests are not touching the same door handle.

Signage has been posted, encouraging guests to practice social distancing at the event.

For funeral arrangements, we have the ability to make arrangements by phone and internet if this would be more comfortable for your family. We can accommodate a variety of plans to fit your family’s wishes.

Simply put - we are going to do everything we can to support you, your family, our staff, and the community during this time.

We will continue to monitor CDC guidance, along with provincial and local health official guidance.
