Our History

Our History

In 1970 Prairie View Crematorium was established by the Edwards Family as the first crematorium in the province located just minutes south on Highway 11. We stand behind our reputation and will continue to serve our community with the values instilled by our funeral directors.

We opened our Saskatoon office to allow families direct access to full memorial service arrangements without the overhead cost of a traditional funeral home. We are proud to offer a fresh and unique approach to funeral and memorial planning.

What We Do

Individual People, Individual Choices. People don't fit any single pattern; they are born as individuals and are shaped by a lifetime of rich experience into someone unique and loved like no other.

A memorial event should be as individual as the life it celebrates. That's why we provide choice. Our team of professionals work with you to match the memorial to your loved one, not the other way around.

Knowledgeable Advice

We apply our experience to your ideas, advising you on options that will reflect the taste and preferences of your loved one. We are able to include rites appropriate to any religion or spiritual affiliation. We can also assist in arranging personal and meaningful tributes for those who do not wish to have a religious component in their ceremony.

The choice of cremation does not limit you to a simple memorial. In reality, cremation offers most of the same options as a traditional burial, with many additional unique choices.

Whether pre-planning, or arranging at the time of need, we will support you every step of the way. We will work together to plan a memorial service that pays tribute to a life well lived.
