Obituary of Eva Keene

Eva Keene May 15, 1914 – October 3, 2015 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eva Keene on Saturday morning Oct. 3, 2015. Eva passed peacefully with the family by her side. We were blessed to comfort her on the journey home. Eva was predeceased by her husband William, daughter Doris and son in law Grant Habicht. Eva will be sadly missed by her son Dennis (Dorothy) Keene, daughter Joan Habicht, daughter Anne (Herve) Gosselin; nine grandchildren: Denise (Conrad) Penner, Lindsay (Pat) Keene, David (Lesia) Keene, Shayne Habicht, Jodie (Brent) Wachs, Blair (Kelly) Habicht, Kevin Gosselin, Darren (Michelle) Gosselin, Angela (Darren) Gosselin. Eva will be remembered dearly by her twenty great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Eva was born May 15, 1914 in Castlecarey, Somerset, England. Eva married William Keene Oct. 7, 1933 in Warman, SK Eva gave birth to two of her children while living in Warman, Doris and Dennis. Times were tough in Saskatchewan in the 1930’s so Eva and Bill decided to return to England. They landed in England the day England declared war on Germany in 1939. Eva and Bill had two daughters Joan and Anne, while living in Swindon, England. Eva’s life was dedicated to her husband and children. Eva showed her strength and devotion to her family when Bill enlisted in the R.A.F. and was called to serve overseas for four years in the Second World War. Eva showed her strength and courage raising her young children while Bill was away. After the war the family returned to Canada and settled in Saskatoon. Eva was a stay at home Mom for most of her life and focusing on supporting her husband the love her life for seventy plus years and nurturing her children. Eva was known to her grandchildren as Nanny who she enjoyed having around. Eva took great pleasure in the many holidays her and Bill shared with family and friends. Eva enjoyed all the activities and conventions her and Bill attended with the R.C.A.F. Association. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Oliver Lodge, 1405 Faulkner Cres. Saskatoon, SK S7L 3R5

Funeral

We are honoring Eva’s request to have a private family funeral with only family attending.
