Obituary of Claire Monette

CLAIRE L. MONETTE passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015, while residing at Extendicare in Saskatoon, SK. Claire, born on October 11, 1935, in Gravelbourg, SK, was one of fifteen children born to Joseph and Beatrice (Roy) Monette. She was raised in Lac Pelletier, spent some of her school years living at the Convent in Lafleche, SK, and worked for her father in his general store before leaving home to begin working in Winnipeg, MB. Claire began her 35 year career with CIBC in 1957 and retired in 1992 with the majority of those years spent in Montreal, PQ. In 2004 Claire moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her family. Claire was passionate about music and animals, especially the many cats she had in her lifetime. Claire is survived by her brother André Monette, her sisters Monique Heasman, Simone Spence, Françoise Letourneau, Marcelle Flahr, her brother-in-law Harold Doll, her sisters-in law Marie Paul Monette, Aline Monette and numerous nephews and nieces. Claire is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Beatrice (Roy), her brothers Armand, Philippe (Beatrice), Lorenzo, Rosaire, Guy (at birth), her sisters Beatrice (Alfred) Trépannier, Irene (George) Robertson, Alice Doll, Madeleine Monette, her brothers-in-law Del Heasman, Ed Spence, Albert Letourneau, Ben Flahr, her sister-in-law Jeannette Monette and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral

A memorial service will be held at Ste. Anne Church in Lac Pelletier at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the SPCA.
