Douglas Perkins

Obituary of Douglas Scott Perkins

It is with great sadness that we announce Doug's peaceful passing. He will be deeply missed by his parents Bob and Helen, his brothers Gerald (Dawn), Gordon (Shelley), nephews Steven, Justin Travis, his niece Robyn, and his special love Monica, along with relatives and friends. Doug was born in Regina, but also lived in Grenfell, Sandy Lake, Wadena, Eastend and Kindersley before being in an accident which left him quadriplegic at age 19. He made his new home in Saskatoon with all the great people at Cheshire Homes where he has lived for 30 years. His great sense of humor and determination made him a role model for many along the way. His family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Royal University Hospital where he received excellent care, and for the compassion of the social worker who assisted us in this difficult time. Also thank you to the Cheshire Homes Care Staff for their care over his 30 years there. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the Cheshire Homes Residents Council c/o Don Klassen, #7 2907 Louise St., Saskatoon, Sk. S7J 3L1

Funeral

Celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, May 11 at 2:00pm at the Nutana Royal Canadian Legion, #3021 Louise Street, Saskatoon. All who knew Doug are welcome.
