Obituary of Rose Marie Bessette

Rose Marie Bessette
March 25th, 1952 - June 14th, 2020

On June 14th, 2020, Rose’s struggle with cancer came to an end.  She was not alone when she passed in St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK.  She is survived by two of her children, Jennifer and Nathan, grandchildren Zackary, Dilan and Hailey, one brother Alfred, two sisters Florence and Alma.  She is preceded by her daughter Debra Lynn, her parents Rene and Florence Bessette (nee Leray), brothers Wilfred, Marcel, Jerry, sisters Agnes, Cecile, and Delphine.

Rose had a love for music and the mountains.  She spent much of her life travelling Western Canada, working and meeting new people along the way.  She paused her travels to raise her children.  She could never sing enough praises about them, and considered them her greatest blessings.  Once her children were grown up, she resumed her travels.  Her smile and laugh were contagious, which shone through her beautiful big brown eyes, and notably long lashes.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  In the interim, a close family friend encourages family and friends to play one of Rose’s favorite songs “The Rose” by Bette Midler in memory of her life.  “Lies the seed, that with the sun’s love in the spring becomes the rose.”
