Obituary of Jackie McGeough

With heavy hearts, and great sorrow the family of Jacqueline (Jackie) McGeough announce that she passed away on Saturday July 24th in the palliative care unit of St.Pauls hospital with her family by her side.  She was 71 years old.  She is survived by her three sons Troy Mundell (Christine), Brett Mundell, and Chad Mundell, as well as her six grandchildren Samantha, Bailey, Madison, Trey, Cole and Anna.  She is also survived by her sisters Maureen (Ken) Emes, Elaine (Bill) Chapman, brothers Martin (Jo-Ann) McGeough, John (Meredith) McGeough, as well as many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.  She is predeceased by her father James McGeough and mother Bernadette McGeough (Beaulne)

Jackie was born at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina and was the middle of 5 children.  They lived on the family farm South of Milestone until the age of seven.  From there the family moved to Whitewood, then to Swift Current in 1963.  She finished high school at O.M. Irwin Collegiate Institute and then moved to Saskatoon in 1969 where she found work at the Sanatorium. She married Dale Mundell on April 15, 1972, and they had three sons (Troy, Brett & Chad).  She changed jobs along the way and worked at St. Paul’s hospital where she finished her career in the urology department after working there for over 35 years

Jackie loved to travel, and went on many trips with her brothers and sisters.  She did not like being in a storm on a sail boat, but who would.

Jackie enjoyed preparing and cooking delicious meals in the kitchen.  When she wasn’t there you could find her working in her garden where she loved to spend warm summer days making her backyard look beautiful.  There was never a holiday or birthday that went by at Grandma Jackie’s without a delicious meal prepared with vegetables from her garden. She loved to have all of her kids and grandkids together as often as possible.

Jackie was loved and adored by her many friends including Huguette, Valerie and Marylin who will all fondly remember and sadly miss her.

A grave side service will be held on Friday August 13th 2021 at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery with a celebration of life to follow at Jackie’s backyard.
