He leaves to mourn his wife Marnie, his 4 legged companion Cayo along with Parents Nick and Eileen Hricz, sisters Sharon Siminoff, Diane (Bob) Farkas, and brother Donald. Mother -in-law Betty Walker (Jim), sister-in-law Darsann and brother-in-law David. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joanne.

Gary was born and raised in Saskatoon. After graduation, he was asked to go to BC to Manage a restaurant. While there, he attended Collage and obtained a IT degree. He returned home to Saskatchewan and built a successful career. His most recent position was as IT Manager at the Greater Saskatoon School division.

Gary was a kind, humble, easy going man. He enjoyed playing his drums, He especially enjoyed hearing his nephew Randy play them. He truly loved time with friends and family. Gary treasured telling and retelling his jokes using his dry wit. His favorite thing was making people laugh. Gary loved hot holidays, and had many memorable vacations with family and friends.

He had a large group of friends that loved him. Gary especially enjoyed his time at Pratt lake with the crew up there. It was a wonderful time for him.

Gary and Marnie met in Regina in 2012. They had a wonderful large wedding in Cuba in 2014. These memories will last forever.

He was loved by all that knew him. He had a positive impact on many lives, and is gone much too soon.

Gary will live on as long as people keep repeating his jokes and remembering his kind nature.

Marnie thanks all of the nurses and doctors at RUH who treated them both with compassion and honesty. This was an extremely tough, though short, journey. You helped both Gary and Marnie deal with the reality of what was happening. Thanks so much to you all.

Cheers to a wonderful Husband, Brother, Son, and Friend. He will be deeply missed.

As per Gary’s wishes there will be no funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
