It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Grace Ellen Janke, our beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma and Great-Great Grandma on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.  She died peacefully with Julie at her side in Circle Drive Special Care Home, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

She will be lovingly remembered by one daughter, Julie Berscheid of Saskatoon, grandchildren Jason (Riva) Berscheid of Regina, Ryan Berscheid of Saskatoon, James Bienvenu of Edmonton, Alberta, step-grandchildren Shannon (Andre) Campeau of Bonnyville, Alberta, and Tim (Marybelle) Bienvenu of La Corey, Alberta.  

Left to cherish her memory are her very special great-grandchildren Harrison, Shiloh, and Quinn Berscheid, Kirsten Davidson, Brendan Bienvenu, Ruckus Bienvenu, Wayne (Jennifer) Campeau, Michelle (Richard) Yeates, Jill Christensen, Tamara, Macie, Joseph and Tiffany Bienvenu as well as eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Michael (1963), daughter Deborah Bienvenu (1981), husband Lawrence (Larry) (2009), sons-in-law, Ray Berscheid (1997) and Ray Bienvenu (2006), grandson, Sheldon Bienvenu (2021), parents George and Gertrude Doonan, 6 brothers: Robert, Lindsay, Dalton, David, Albert, Armour , and 3 sisters:  Ethel, Viola and Sheila (Laura).

Grace was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on December 8, 1934.  She was the youngest of 10 children in the family of George and Gertrude Doonan.  She attended school at Eastend, Saskatchewan.  She married her husband of 54 years, Larry Janke, in Medicine Hat, AB.   She was an excellent homemaker and loved to do handicrafts such as knitting, sewing, and card making.  Most of all, she loved keeping in touch with her siblings, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends. 

She will be remembered for her gentleness, kindness and perseverance with many losses and trials throughout her life including Parkinson’s which she was diagnosed with in 2012. 

A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 310 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon, SK, on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. 

The service will also be live streamed for those of you who are unable to attend. 

Should friends and family so desire, donations in memory of Grace may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church https:resurrectionlutheranchurch.ca/activities/

Interment will take place in Memory Gardens, Swift Current, SK at a later date.
