Obituary of Raymond Henry Morrison

Raymond Henry Morrison went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023 at the age of 84.  He passed peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon after a lengthy battle with COPD.  He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Morrison; son, Leslie Brophy; daughter-in-law, Sherri Brophy; and granddaughter, Amanda Rho.

Ray was born in Tisdale, SK.  At the age of 17, with a desire to serve and a hunger for adventure, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he proudly served for 20 years achieving the rank of corporal and travelling the world from Germany to Egypt to Italy to Israel, etc.  After retiring from the military, he settled in Calgary and then eventually made his way to Vancouver, where he met and later married Rose.

Ray worked in many avenues from driving instructor to entrepreneur to cabinet maker, etc.  After retirement, he and Rose relocated to Saskatoon to be close to their son’s family.

Ray was an avid reader and history buff.  He was a hunter and angler in his day.  He was a talented craftsman with wood.  He loved sports, especially hockey and football.  He was a lifelong learner, and he always had a wealth of stories to tell.

Ray was strong in his faith, and lived out his beliefs.  He was a kind and generous man.  His favourite Bible verse was, “God SO LOVED the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

In accordance with Ray’s wishes, the family will privately celebrate his life.
