It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mathilda Elizabeth Huhtala.

Predeceased by her father and mother, Anton and Barbara, her sisters Eva, Agnes, Sophie. Her brothers Peter, Anton, Gerald, Gordon and her son Gerald Anton Ennis. Mathilda is survived by her loving husband Jack of 52 years, son Calvin (Marilyn), daughter Debbie (Montie), sister Clara, grandchildren Rod, Traci (Stan), Cory, Nichole (Ryan), Cody, Jessica (Tyler). Great grandchildren Tate, Reed, Lucy, Maya, Arlo, Eli and Sadie as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Mathilda was born and raised in Grayson SK. She married her first husband Grant, with whom she had three children, Calvin, Jerry and Debbie. Later she married her second husband Jack. Jack is a very caring man who loved his Mathilda very much. Mathilda loved her family above all “she was the heart of everything” in the family. Mathilda had a great sense of humour and was very thoughtful, she loved to sew and cook.

Mathilda’s family would like to thank Saint Anne’s for their exceptional care and kindness they have shown to Mom.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the ALS Society would be appreciated. Those wishing to attend can meet at the cemetery gates on 33rd St. at 10:45 a.m.
