Obituary of Sheila Lorna June Cochlan

Sheila Cochlan (nee Goodman) died unexpectedly at the age of 90 surrounded by her children on May 30, 2023.  She was predeceased by her husband, Al, in 2015. She is survived by her children, Jody Kowall (Tim), Lynden Cochlan (Tom Haney), Gregg Cochlan (Sandra), Barrie Cochlan, and Jay Cochlan (Terry Wisse); God Son, Dane Moore;  her sisters, Shauna Dorais and Shelby Quissey (Eric);  11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was a huge sports fan, cheering on her Riders, Raptors, Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. She  played golf up until her 90th year.  She loved to read, play bridge, mah-jong, and scrabble, and was a cross word expert.  Sheila spent countless hours at the RUH auxiliary– she was a volunteer extraordinaire.

For those who knew her know how special she was:  loving, caring, funny, compassionate and always putting family first.  She nurtured and valued her friendships.  But most of all she was a loving wife, mother, Amma and (Gumma).

As they say in Iceland – She has gone to the summer land – see you later!!

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday June 27th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club.
